Autodesk Inventor 2010 Feature Recognition Enabler, developed by Autodesk, Inc., is an add-in for Autodesk Inventor 2010 that converts “dumb” imported solids into fully editable, parametric features. It analyzes geometry from non-native or neutral CAD files and rebuilds the model’s feature history so you can modify dimensions, suppress operations, and apply design intent as if the part were created natively in Inventor. This streamlines reuse of supplier components and legacy data, reduces remodeling time, and improves downstream documentation and manufacturing workflows.

Key capabilities:

  • Automatically and interactively recognizes common features such as holes, fillets, chamfers, bosses, pockets, slots, extrusions, revolves, and patterns.
  • Works with parts imported via neutral formats like STEP, IGES, and SAT.
  • Generates standard Inventor features with editable parameters and a feature tree.
  • Integrates directly into the Inventor 2010 interface with preview and control over recognition results and tolerances.
  • Helps maintain design intent for edits, constraints, drawings, and BOM updates.
